Hypnosis Cds
There is a lot written about Hypnosis Cds. After 17 years of practice as a Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist I have come to realise the importance of the many varied thoughts and beliefs each individual has. That is why I have called my Cd’s, Hypnosis Help Wellness Cd’s. Unless we are able to release the blockages that stop us from being who we want to be, this effects us not only emotionally, but also on a physical and spiritual level. But let us first prove the theory of how varied our thoughts and beliefs are.
Prove the theory
First, you might want to prove to yourself that indeed the above is correct, i.e. the many different core belief systems we all have. One way might be to get a group of people and draw up a grid and ask each person in the group to do a little experiment. Try to choose people outside of your immediate family, for they might likely all think the same having established a central belief system that is similar to each other.
The grid at the top should show all the names included in the story I will get you to read. The grid on the side should show five lines marked 1 to 5, one for each person in the story. So it might look something like this:
0 Alice David Robert Sinbad Slug
1____|________|_________|_________|___________|________|
2____|________|_________|_________|___________|________|
3____|________|_________|_________|___________|________|
4____|________|_________|_________|___________|________|
5____|________|_________|_________|___________|________|
Exercise:
- Rate each character from 1 to 5 (1 being the best character in the story and 5 being the worst/the villian)
- All characters must be rated
- There can be no drawn numbers
Alice _____
David _____
Robert _____
Sinbad _____
Slug _____
So here is the story I want you to rate each character on – ready?
Alice loved David very much but he lived on an island across a shark infested channel and Alice wanted to see him.
She walked along the beach and asked Robert if he would take her across the shark infested channel to see her loved one, David. Robert said “I’ve got my own troubles and cannot help you.”
So she walked along the beach and asked Sinbad if he would help her. Sinbad looked at her and said “I’ll take you across if you will sleep with me first tonight.” Alice said “all right.”
The next morning Sinbad took Alice across to David. Alice ran up the beach and after a loving welcome told David what happened. David threw Alice aside.
A young man named Slug who had seen and heard all was incensed and ran down the hill and punched David. David fell, and rolled into the shark infested water and was eaten. (Alice was seen with a half smile on her face). End of story.
Now ask the group to raise their hands one story person at a time, viz:
Who thought Alice was the best character (the least guilty) in the story? – add up the raised hands and put the number under Alice on the number 1 line.
Then continue with each character in the story – who thought David was the best character in the story… and so on…
The next question being; Who thought Alice was the second best character in the story? Then continue with each character in the story – who thought David was the second best character in the story… and so on… third best… fourth best… who was the worst (villian) character in the story…
If your group did like most groups, you will find that some votes might have quite high ratings while the rest are scattered across the grid. If we all thought the same, then wouldn’t we all have chosen the same people in the same order?
So this shows us that to write a script (the wording) for a CD we need to take into consideration the many variables that would make it suitable for most people. Not an easy job you would have to agree.
So with all those varied core beliefs, how can one make reasonably sure that a CD will help most people to achieve what they purchased the CD for?
Considerations for making a Cd
- What are we trying to achieve?
- Using appropriate wording.
- Wording that will both take the person into hypnosis, deepen the trance state and wording and actions that will facilitate the desired wanted results.
- Background music that facilitates the relaxation response.
- Deepening of the Trance process to be able to bypass the Conscious Mind (I call it the ‘Yes-But” mind) that will allow access to the Sub-Conscious mind where the changes take place.
- Using visualisation that might be helpful.
- Using metaphors that would be helpful.
- Using common sense explanations that allows the mind to understand and make changes.
- And any other thing that your training and creative mind can come up with that will assist the consumer to achieve their desired results.
- Testing with people to see how your Cd’s work is of major importance.
The sound of your voice and accent is important to the listener as well. That is one of the reasons I put a short Cd explanation sound file on my website that visitors to the site can listen to. They also have a sample of the music on there. My Cds use binaural beats. A frequency sound in the background that aids the listener to go into a deeper trance state. I guide the listener to use psychological acupuncture (EFT) whilst in the trance state, which I find works more powerfully. There are also free e-books for download chosen to supplement the purchasers learning on related subjects.
At the end of the day, the Cd that works best for you, is the one you are able to relate to the most. If however your problems are deep-rooted then it makes sense to see a professional to help you sort through your problems and use it in conjunction with your therapy. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I would recommend that you choose the medium of hypnosis to help you that, for the feelings and emotions reside in your sub-conscious, and whilst talk-therapy can assist you to make sense of your world; it is hypnosis that allows you to release the emotion(s) from that event.
A thought I agree with:
