Why is the world in such a bad state?
According to some estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world. The word religion is sometimes used interchangeably with “faith” or “belief system”, but religion differs from private belief in that it has a public aspect. Even when I came across a site that endeavours to explain the difference between just 5 of the bigger religions it then goes on to identify the religion it feels should be supported by their own self belief.
It seems to me that religion uses our money to give to the poor, yet they are exempt from taxes, own prime land, and get richer themselves. And let’s face it; they have their own evil amongst them, those that personify holiness abusing innocent children, same as the rest of the world. It seems they are mere mortals after all. And yet I know that there are many good people in religion, but with all this religion on our doorstep, shouldn’t we be more loving and caring and sharing? I am not here to bag religion, just trying to sort out why the world is in such a bad state.
If it isn’t religion then who can we blame for the sad state of affairs the world is in?
Can we blame the do-gooders that get legislation passed, be it; you mustn’t smack a child… you mustn’t allow cracker night in your back yard… you have to wear a helmet when you ride a bike… you must wear a seat belt in the car, and so must your dog… your child must be in a car seat of its own at the back of the car… and so it goes on? A sad state of affairs when you hear that there is an increase in parents taking out AVOs (Apprehended Violence Order). Parents give up trying to set boundaries when they don’t have the authority to do so. (I am wondering how children in the past all grew up safely without all this control. Just lucky I guess?)
Do we blame the Health Dept? I read an article that tells us that mothers when they have had a baby all suffer from emotional problems and need counselling and medication… (How did mothers cope in the past I ask myself?)
We need blood pressure tablets… we need cholesterol lowering tablets… we need antidepressants… (Did I read an article not so long ago that placebo worked better? Another even more recently; a certain antidepressant has been found to cause deformity to the baby in the womb. How can that be when we bag alternative medicine as the bad guy… isn’t ‘evidence based research’ supposedly safe?)
We should have medication for sugar problems… to avoid HPV we should have a vaccination – yet one of the researchers tells us it only works for one strain of HPV that cures itself within a year… now suddenly they have come out to say that one injection is all that is needed…
The World Health Organisation wants a worldwide focus on non communicable diseases… weight… smoking… drugs… but they won’t pass a law to add labels if there is GMO included in the product so that people know what food they are eating. I want a choice to decide if my tomatoes are crossed with fish… (a different species put together – what will that cause?) I want to know if I am using a pesticide that causes bugs to become stronger so that I have to use a new pesticide that is made by a maker that can set his own price… I don’t want our country to go the way I have been reading that you buy GMO seeds that don’t allow you to grow your own next years process from the GMO seeds and you have to buy new seeds. More farmers in Japan are committing suicide, ashamed that they can no longer afford to keep their farms and feed their families. I don’t think this should be allowed to happen – do you?
Do we blame women who gained their independence through the suffragette movement? After all, women used to stay at home, look after the children, cook and do the housework and were reliant on their male partners to bring in the bacon, who could abuse us and we had no say… So now we are able to go to work and our children are looked after by others who have their own standards and restrictions set by legislation. At the end of the day, adults are tired. It is easier to let the kids watch television and play their fighting games on play station (so they learn to become violent?)… or post on face book. They grow up without boundaries and discipline and can become angry with the world, so they take drugs to be social – everyone does it – don’t they?
What are we meant to believe?
Are we meant to believe those that control us do so for our own good? By those that have the money, wealth and power to keep the world running just the way it is, or even worse?
Who runs the show?
OXFAM International says that the richest 1% will own more than all the rest by 2016 (published Jan 2015). The combined wealth of the richest 1 percent will overtake that of the other 99 percent of people next year unless the current trend of rising inequality is checked, Oxfam warned ahead of the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.
Oxfam made headlines at Davos last year with the revelation that the 85 richest people on the planet have the same wealth as the poorest 50 percent (3.5 billion people). That figure is now 80 – a dramatic fall from 388 people in 2010. The wealth of the richest 80 doubled in cash terms between 2009-14.
Twenty percent of billionaires have interests in the financial and insurance sectors, a group which saw their cash wealth increase by 11 percent in the 12 months to March 2014. These sectors spent $550 million lobbying policy makers in Washington and Brussels during 2013. During the 2012 US election cycle alone, the financial sector provided $571 million in campaign contributions.
Billionaires listed as having interests in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors saw their collective net worth increase by 47 percent. During 2013, they spent more than $500 million lobbying policy makers in Washington and Brussels.
Oxfam is concerned that the lobbying power of these sectors is a major barrier in the way of reforming the global tax system and of ensuring intellectual property rules do not lead to the world’s poorest being denied life saving medicines. Of course it is, and they want to keep it that way in the disguise of seemingly doing noble things for the world.
So what are we able to do? How is that going to happen? Is the one percent laughing at us, knowing they have the upper hand and we can’t do a damn thing?
Keep your chin up – maybe we will have a revolution and kill the 1% and start all over again… Oh! I forgot! If we make too much noise (they don’t mind a little noise), they will just eliminate us, and keep on going as if nothing happened.
Damn frustrating isn’t it? Is there hope for change? Well! I believe there is; there is an vibrational energy where we can use our minds to see the world we want come to fruitition. It needs control of our mind to stop focussing on the bad and bringing that towards us and focussing instead on what we want. If enough of us do that, we will create the change… but how to do that? Well! that’s for another story.
